Personal Information

Jennifer Eschweiler obtained her PHD from Roskilde University, Denmark, writing on public deliberation with Muslim civil society organisations in Berlin, focusing on the democratic impact of civil society and social movements on minority groups.

She then joined the EMES Coordination Unit to work on EU-funded project Third Sector Impact (2013-2017), coordinating dissemination activities, including the organisation of events bringing together European third sector, research and policy stakeholders, and on the Co-SIRA (co-designed social innovation research agenda) as part of Social Innovation Europe (2014-2017).

In 2015 she also re-joined Roskilde University (RUC) for post-doctoral research on H2020-funded project SOLIDUS: Solidarity in European Societies, coordinating a work area that employs a social and solidarity economy lens. She is also teaching in RUC’s Master programme on Social Entrepreneurship.

Before working on her PhD fist in the UK and then at RUC she was working for an international NGO in London. She is also running a small project of citizenship education in Berlin, Germany.
