He received his Master’s Degree in Science of Economics at the London School of Economics and a Doctorate at Oxford University and at Roma – La Sapienza University. He has published around 400 works (articles on national and international journals, books, etc.) and, according to REPEC (2014), he is among the top 70 economists in the world for the number of pages published in international journals.

Between 2011 and 2013 he was member of the Council of the President of the Italian Society of Economists , of the Executive Committee of Econometica and AICCON. Between 2005 and 2014 he was president of the Ethic Committee of Banca Etica and now he is member of the Ethic Committee of Etica Sgr, company leader in Italy on ethic investments founds. Furthermore, he is presidet of the scientific committee of Next, Nuova Economia per Tutti, Director of the Italian website
